Reminders of Gratitude

So last night was one of the worst nights for me, I was very sick on the tour bus and didn't get much sleep either. I kept on thinking that maybe the Lord had someone I needed to pray for, or just wanted to teach me to have JOY in every circumstance bad or good. He was so faithful to take care of me last night. As I was praying and crying in pain, the Lord reminded me how easily my pain or trials can block my communication with Him. I think of the people who are dying from some awful painful disease and I count my blessings and pray that they can focus on their Savior in the midst of all of the pain. I am so thankful for my health and sometimes it takes a terrible reminder like last night to cause me to be thankful for my body and health. Please be keeping the WINTER JAM team in your prayers as several of us have this sickness.

Ecuador

As many of you know I am so blessed with the opportunity to go to Ecuador during Spring break this year on a mission trip. I am so thankful the Lord is allowing me the privilege of sharing the gospel with these precious people. I am going as a chaperone/leader for this trip and I am VERY excited about the sweet girls that are in my group. We had our first time together in our groups to pray and get to know each other on Sunday and I can't wait to see what God has in store for these wonderful teens and for us leaders. We are praying that MANY people would come to know the Lord during the trip, and that even now God would be preparing the hearts of the people we will be ministering to, and prepare our hearts to go and share. Please join me in praying for our team during our preparation and during the trip. I can't wait to see all of things the Lord has in store for us!

On the Road again

We are on the road again for Winter Jam. God is doing such incredible things, and it is an absolute honor to watch it happen. I am so blessed to get to the work for the most precious and godly family, and get to be a part of some incredible things the Lord is doing. Recently as I was talking and praying with another lady my age, I was reminded how I am beyond blessed that I love what I do and enjoy my work, she said she is stuck where she is at and doesn't enjoy her work or her week. How grateful I am. I am grateful that I am enjoying Jesus during this sweet season waiting, and enjoying the journey He has me on. Its the common and normal things of daily life that we take advantage of and don't think to thank the Lord for. Lets remember to take time today to spend with the Creator of the Universe, and thank Him for the incredible blessings of our day.

A Romantic

Have you ever been driving and saw a gorgeous sunset, beautiful flower, or wonderful wind? Every time I see and feel those things, an overwhelming feeling of love pours over my heart. I see my pursuer, my romantic, my Creator who delights in showing me how much He loves me. As a single girl there is nothing more that I love then to feel loved and pursued by the only perfect man that ever existed- My Creator, Savior and King, Jesus Christ. Last night I was driving along and I felt like crying tears of joy as I looked at the GORGEOUS sunset and was overwhelmed by the goodness of the Lord and the joy only He can give. It was like I was giggly in love, and it was awesome. I just thought it was the sweetest thing, so I had to share.
Are you enjoying God's romantic acts today? Take time to smell the roses, bask in the beauty of God's creation. He is so good to us.

"Taste and see that the LORD is good. Oh, the joys of those who take refuge in him!" Psalms 34:8

Wedding Buzz

This past week was the week of my Best Friends wedding. So it was filled with fun showers, luncheons, rehearsals, food, singing and celebrating the union the Lord brought together. I can't even begin to describe how amazing Kayla is and what an incredible friend she is to me. She is such a godly example, beautiful inside and out, unselfish, caring, considerate, SO loyal and just an all around blessing to be around. I was honored to have the privilege of being her maid of honor and getting to be a part of her special day. To me the whole day just had a fragrance of Christ on it. The Lord truly brought them together and gave them the desires of their heart as they continued to seek HIM and delighted themselves in Christ. I am beyond happy for them and can't wait to see all the Lord has in store for their lives together.

She was a gorgeous bride in every way, she looked like a beautiful princess and was so sweet, considerate and made everyone feel like they were the only one in the room.

Since my blog is called "While I am waiting" and its a view of the sweet journey of waiting on the Lord I just have to share this. Kayla had never ever dated anyone else and completely waited on the Lord to bring her husband to her. She served the Lord and sought after God with her whole heart during the season of singleness, all the while not knowing that God was molding her into being the perfect godly woman for Ben. What an incredible story of God's faithfulness and goodness, even in those desires in our hearts that we can't even fathom, He knows and He cares. Their story makes me want to love Jesus more and Know HIM more intimately.

At the rehearsal dinner they had a time of blessing where anyone could stand up and share a memory, some encouragement or a story. It was amazing to me to see how every single person who got up talked about how Ben and Kayla were a vessel the Lord used to grow them in Christ. What a HUGE compliment and incredible influencers they are at thier young age for the Lord. That is how I want my wedding and my relationship to one day look like, I don't want it to be about us, but be about Jesus Christ and who He is. May our lives be such a reflection of Christ that others see Him shining through in every step of our lives, the big and the small ones.

Wonderful seasons

I had a fabulous Christmas and New Years! Big news in our family is that my baby brother got engaged and my older brother got a wonderful godly girlfriend! We are all so excited and my house is buzzing with wedding talk and excitement, its way fun! It is freezing and very cold outside so our family gathers by our warm fireplace and we get to enjoy some sweet conversations while we warm up. This morning I was reminded of the blessing of godly parents as I got up to spend time with Jesus by the warm fire ( can I get an AMEN for the heat :) ) and my mom was already there sitting by the fire studying God's word, along with my daddy in the other room ( by the other fire) on his knees communicating with Christ. What a sweet blessing to see the biblical parents I have been given from the Lord.

I was blessed to spend this past month with my 2nd family in Tennesee for Xtreme. This is one of my favorite trips I look forward to in the year and I was so excited about getting to go. It was a relaxing time where they spoiled me and we enjoyed the dixie stampede, and awesome services where hundreds gave their life to Christ! Praise the Lord for the gift of salvation. Every time I see the sight of people repenting of their sin and turning to Christ I get chill bumps and I am reminded of the amazing gift we have been given. That is what life is all about. Many times we get so stuck in our lives, our schedules and what we have to get done that we miss what we are HERE for and what privilege it is to live each day as a follower of Christ. I am trying to year to think more on HIM and less on me, as I go about my daily tasks He has placed before me.

Hope you are enjoying this weather and staying wrapped up in blankets and wrapped up in the HIS word!
